Our History

Founded in 1985 by Ray Walsh, Gourmet Kitchen has evolved from a small company preparing appetizers for local chefs, to one of the premier hors d’oeuvre manufacturing firms in the country. Our high standards of product excellence, dedication to personal service, and our continued commitment to being innovative are the guiding principles of Gourmet Kitchen. Our passion to be the industry leader in taste, quality, and customer satisfaction has proven to be the key to our success.

Throughout our thirty years in business, we have not lost touch with the principles that have been the foundation of our success. Here, at Gourmet Kitchen, our primary concern is to satisfy each and every customer. We are cognizant of the many challenges that food service professionals face and we relish the opportunity to ease the burdens commonly experienced in the food service industry. No matter what issues arise, our staff will work tirelessly to ensure that all of our customers get the products they need, when they need them. We are capable of producing any of our products on a moment’s notice and we are prepared to make emergency deliveries twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Regardless of the crisis, Gourmet Kitchen’s staff is always up to the task.

Gourmet Kitchen’s unique position as a manufacturer and distributor affords us flexibility that is unparalleled in the industry. This flexibility allows our world class culinary staff to develop exclusive and innovative products for our customers. Whether a chef requests a specialty product for an event or a client needs an exclusive product line created, we will guarantee our customers get the products they require.

Throughout the years, we have developed many long lasting relationships in the hotel industry. Because of those relationships, we are constantly creating distributorships throughout the country. For example, when the chefs that we serve in our direct distribution network relocate, they ask us to find a distribution channel in their new hotel or club. It is an honor to help our distributors gain new accounts and to continue to service these chefs wherever they land new careers.

At Gourmet Kitchen, ‘service’ is not just a word, it’s a philosophy. Our professional chefs are constantly working with our clients to develop new and unique items, ensuring that we remain on the cutting edge of the appetizer market. No matter what the appetizer requirements may be, we won’t be satisfied until you are.
